Jamshedpur, Oct 25: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of dry weather over Jharkhand today. The Met centre also issued an alert of fog and mist in most parts of the state during the next 72- hours.
The change in wind pattern has resulted in a dip in night readings. Statistics showed that the minimum temperature dipped to 16 degrees Celsius in Ranchi and Jamshedpur and as low as 14 degree Celsius in Gumla.
The cyclonic storm Sitrang over East-central and adjoining areas of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 21 Kmph and lay centred in adjoining the central Bay of Bengal near latitude 18.3°N and longitude 88.9°E, about 380 km south of Sagar Island and 520 km south-southwest of Barisal (Bangladesh).
It is likely to cross the Bangladesh coast between Tinkona Island and Sandwip close to Barisal around Tuesday noon.
