Islamabad, Oct 17: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), led by former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, won six out of a possible eight National Assembly seats in Sunday’s by-elections.
Six of the seven seats up for election to the National Assembly were won by the PTI, including the Peshawar seat and the Mardan and Kahnewal seats in the Provincial Assembly.
Khan’s Party did suffer a setback in Multan, a crucial seat, when Mehr Bano Qureshi, the daughter of former Pakistani foreign minister Shah Moshmodd Qureshi, lost to Ali Musa Gilani, a previous leader of the nation.
