Islamabad, May 16: Imran Khan’s bail in two instances of inciting violence and sedition was extended by a Pakistani high court on Tuesday until June 8.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) single bench heard arguments in instances involving accusations against high-ranking government officials and the manhandling of PML-N leader Mohsin Ranjha by Khan’s supporters.
After hearing the arguments made by the attorneys, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq increased the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader’s bail until June 8. Following the court’s decision to exempt the former prime minister from court appearances for the day, the extension was granted.
Justice Farooq also enquired as to whether a first information report on Khan’s arrest from court grounds had been registered. The attorney general retorted that the case’s Supreme Court decision is still pending.
