Dhanbad, Sept 15: In a first of its kind in the annals of  Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad, the final year’s post graduate (PG)  students felicitated and awarded three senior faculty members of Hindi department with different awards for their outstanding guidance.

Though the function was organized for the farewell of the last year PG students and induction of the new batch students at the University Academic Block, the students on the basis of their survey and voting, felicitated Dr Rita Singh with the ‘Personality Award’, Mukul Ravidas with ‘All rounder Award’ and Dr Mritunjay Singh with ‘Perfectionist Award’.

“The gesture of students has overwhelmed us. This was the first time in the university that students felicitated their teachers of the department with awards on the basis of their performance in the classroom. The department had no prior information on the students’ assessment and selection. Of course, this would set a new trend in BBMKU,” said a teacher of the Hindi department.

At the function, the PG students shared their two years’ experience in the department and expressed their gratitude towards the faculty members for providing proper teaching and guidance during the period.

Besides the teachers, the students of the PG final year students also selected semester-2 students, Kishan Kumar and  Priya Kumari  ‘Mister Fresher’ and ‘Miss Fresher’ respectively in the function.

Semester-4 students Sumit Kumar and Varsha Kumari were also selected as Mister and Miss Farewell respectively. Besides that, five students Riya Kumari, Mita, Julie, Pratima, and Priya were chosen as ‘Miss Princess’.
