Visakhapatnam, March 19: The second one-day international of the three-match series between India and Australia is scheduled at the YS Raja Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. After defeating the guests by five wickets in the first ODI in Mumbai on Friday, the hosts are up 1-0 in the series.

Accuweather predicts that Visakhapatnam will likely have a few strong thunderstorms and four hours of rain. While though many tickets have been sold for the game, Sunday’s rain might have a significant impact, leaving spectators unhappy. According to accuweather, Visakhapatnam will have a 77% cloud cover with sporadic thunderstorms between 1 PM IST and 5 PM IST.

The temperature will range from 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, while the humidity is predicted to be around 80%.

In the opening ODI, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja maintained composure during a challenging 189-run chase to lead India to a five-wicket victory against Australia. After a spectacular collapse following opener Mitchell Marsh’s 65-ball 81 in Mumbai, Australia were bowled out for 188 in 35.4 overs.

India was in trouble at 39-4 when Rahul (75 not out) took charge and, together with Jadeja (45 not out), put on an unbroken 108-run sixth-wicket partnership to help the hosts win in 39.5 overs.

As the two nations prepare for the 50-over World Cup later this year in India, the hosts are ahead 1-0 in the three-match series. After a family obligation that caused him to miss the first ODI, Rohit Sharma is anticipated to take over as captain.
