Kolkata, Nov 21: The third and final match of the three T20 series between India and New Zealand will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata today. Team India has already won the series by winning both the matches and will take to the field today with the intention of clean sweep. At the same time, the Kiwi team would like to end the series with a win.
After winning by 5 wickets in Jaipur and 7 wickets in Ranchi, Team India can try the bench strength in today’s match. In today’s match, Rituraj Gaikwad, Ishaan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal and Avesh Khan can get a chance. Rituraj, who won the Orange Cap in IPL, can be given a chance in place of KL Rahul in the opening. At the same time, Chahal can take the place of Akshar or Ashwin. Ishaan can be given a chance in place of Rishabh Pant, who is playing continuously and Avesh Khan can come in place of Deepak Chahar or Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
New Zealand’s middle order batsmen were very disappointed in the first two matches. The major reason for the team losing the series was also the failure of the middle order. Except Martin Guptill, no player could perform well in Jaipur and Ranchi in batting. In the second match, many players of the team got starts, but no one could convert them into big innings. Along with this, the team also looked scattered in the bowling. In the last match, the team would like to bid farewell with honors by performing well in every department.
Interestingly, if caption Rohit Sharma scores 87 runs in today’s match, he will become the second highest run scorer in T20 internationals, leaving behind Kohli ( 3227). Kiwi opner is on the top of the list with 3248 runs. Also if Yuzvendra Chahal takes 4 wickets against the Kiwi team, then Chahal will become the highest wicket-taker for India in T20 Internationals. At the same time, if he gets 8 wickets in this series, then he will become his 250 wickets in T20 cricket (domestic and international).
The third match will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The pitch here has always been good for the batsmen. The last time a T20I match was played at this ground was in 2018. The team winning the toss would like to bowl first, as handling the ball in the second innings becomes difficult due to the dew.
Meanwhile,in view of the T20 match, the West Bengal government has relaxed the 11 pm to 5 am restrictions for two hours on the movment of people and vechicles associated with the match. The relaxation would begain from 11pm of Nov 21 to 1 am of Nov 22 for spectators, players , match officials and other associated with the match.
