Ranchi, Oct 9: At the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, the second One-Day International between India and South Africa is scheduled to begin on Sunday.

According to the weather reports that there are chances throughout the day that the humidity will be high.

At 11 AM and 2 PM, thunderstorms are expected, and the cloud cover will be heavy the entire game. When the coin toss occurs, the temperature is predicted to be 28 degrees Celsius; by the time the match is through, it will have dropped to about 23 degrees.

Washington Sundar has taken Deepak Chahar’s position because Deepak Chahar is injured, forcing the Indian team to alter their starting lineup. Due to a stiff back, Chahar has been ruled out of the remaining two games.

Both sides brought their best effort to the opening game, which was unquestionably exciting all the way to the conclusion. After the game was significantly impacted by rain in the early hours, Heinrich Klassen and David Miller shone for South Africa with the bat as the Proteas recorded 249 runs in their allowed 40 overs.

When India attempted to reach the aim of 250, they were dealt severe blows at the top when Shubman Gill and Shikar Dhawan left early with little effect. The South African bowlers forced Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad to play defence.

With the introduction of Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson, the game’s dynamic changed as Iyer scored a counterattacking fifty. Samson formed crucial alliances with Shardul Thakur and Iyer and advanced the game. Despite the wicketkeeper-best batter’s efforts, India finally fell nine runs short.

India Squad:
Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer (vice-captain), Rajat Patidar, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Sanju Samson (wicket-keeper), Shahbaz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Mohd. Siraj, Washington Sundar.
