Mohali, March 6: In the ongoing Test match between India and Sri Lanka at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali, Ravichandran Ashwin has written history. Ashwin has got his record 434th Test wicket, tying him with Kapil Dev for the most wickets taken by an Indian bowler in the game’s longest format.
Ashwin is currently second only to Anil Kumble (619) in the record of Indian bowlers with the most red-ball dismissals. In Test cricket, only four Indian bowlers have taken more than 400 wickets.
Notably, during India’s home series against New Zealand last year, Ashwin overtook Harbhajan Singh on the exclusive list.
Ravichandran Ashwin equals Kapil Dev's record of 434 Test wickets. Ashwin becomes India's second-highest wicket-taker in Test matches after Anil Kumble.
