Ranchi: CPI-ML state secretary Manoj Bhakt and party central committee member Suvendu Sen expressed concern over disputes among INDIA Bloc coalition partners regarding certain seats in the Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024. CPI-ML believes these disagreements should be resolved through dialogue to prevent the BJP from gaining any advantage in Jharkhand. They shared their views during a press conference at the CPI-ML office on Saturday.
The leaders stated that unilateral announcements by Congress and JMM have increased these disputes, with coalition partners issuing conflicting candidate lists. For instance, after CPI-ML released its candidate list for the Dhanwar constituency, JMM released a list with a candidate who placed sixth in the previous election. Such unilateral actions could weaken the alliance and only benefit the BJP.
Regarding the Jamua seat, CPI-ML had clearly asserted its claim, especially after Congress’s Manju Kumari defected to the BJP. However, JMM chose the former BJP MLA as its candidate, which CPI-ML believes is not conducive to healthy politics. CPI-ML urged coalition partners not to weaken the objective of ousting BJP from Jharkhand and to resolve disputes through dialogue.
CPI-ML emphasized that sidelining the legitimate claims of smaller parties would weaken the INDIA alliance and serve as a self-destructive move for the coalition. CPI-ML hopes that JMM and Congress will move forward positively, and based on that, it will release its second candidate list. They believe that ultimately, the INDIA Bloc will fight with full unity and ensure a resounding defeat for the BJP in Jharkhand while fulfilling the aspirations of development, local issues, employment, and the region’s natural resources.
