New Delhi, Nov 18: India and China will hold discussions over pending border issues today. The talks will be held under the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC).
Three major friction points had emerged between the two countries including both the banks of Pangong Lake, Gogra heights and the Hot Springs area following Chinese build up along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.

Notably, India and China held the 13th round of the India-China Corps Commander-level meeting last month.
During the 13th round of the meeting the discussions between the two sides focused on the resolution of the remaining issues along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh.

The Indian side pointed out that the situation along the LAC had been caused by unilateral attempts of the Chinese side to alter the status quo and in violation of the bilateral agreements.

India conveyed that it expects the Chinese side to work towards early resolution of all the remaining issues on the LAC in eastern Ladakh.

“It was, therefore, necessary that the Chinese side take appropriate steps in the remaining areas so as to restore peace and tranquility along the LAC in the Western Sector,” according to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs.
