New Delhi, Nov.18: India’s COVID-19 tally has risen to 3,44,78,517 new cases, while the number of active cases has risen to 1,28,762, according to the Union health ministry.
According to ministry figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll from the viral sickness has risen to 4,64,623, with 470 more deaths.
For 41 days in a row, the number of new coronavirus infections has remained below 20,000, and for 144 days in a row, less than 50,000 new cases have been reported.
The number of active cases of the infection has risen to 1,28,762, accounting for 0.37 percent of all cases, the lowest level since March 2020, according to the ministry, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has reached 98.28 percent, the greatest level since March 2020.
In just 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload increased by 207 cases, according to the report. The daily positive rate was 0.97 percent on average. It has been less than 2% for 45 days in a row.
The positivity rate for the week was 0.94 percent. According to the health ministry, it has been below 2% for the past 55 days.
The total number of persons who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,38,85,132, with a 1.35 percent case fatality rate.
The total number of vaccine doses given out in the country as part of the Covid vaccination campaign has surpassed 114.46 crore.
Covid is responsible for 470 new deaths, with 388 in Kerala and 32 in Maharashtra.
According to a release issued by the state government, 61 of the 388 fatalities in Kerala were recorded in the previous few days, and the rest 327 were labelled as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on revised rules from the Centre and Supreme Court instructions.
