New Delhi, Dec 12: India reported 7,774 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, informed the Union Health Ministry on Sunday.
With this the active caseload now stands at 92,281. The country also reported 306 COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours. As many as 4,75,434 people have succumbed to the infection so far.
According to the ministry, 8,464 people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,41,22,795. Currently, the recovery rate is at 98.36% which is the highest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate is 0.65%, which is less than 2% for the last 69 days. The weekly positivity rate is 0.70%, which is less than 1% for the last 28 days, informed the ministry.
Meanwhile, 65.58 crore samples have been tested for the presence of the virus so far. As per the heath ministry, over 132.93 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
