New Delhi, Jan 6: India recorded 90,928 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, up 55% from yesterday’s 58,097 instances. There are 2,630 cases of the Omicron in the country, with 797 cases in Maharashtra and 465 cases in Delhi.
The weekly rate of optimism is 3.47 percent, while the daily rate is 6.43 percent. The percentage of all Covid tests that are genuinely positive is known as the positivity rate. If the number of positive tests is large or the total number of tests is low, it will be high.
The current recovery rate is 97.81 percent. In the previous 24 hours, at least 19,206 people have recovered. The total recoveries in India has reached to 3,43,41,009. Active cases make up less than 1% of total cases, with 0.81 percent now active. The total number of active cases is 2,85,401.
325 deaths were also reported due to the infection in the past 24 hours. The total death toll in the country is now at 4,82,876. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 68,53,05,751 samples have been tested up to January 5 for COVID-19. Of these 14,13,030 samples were tested on Wednesday.
