New Delhi, Jan 10: The Local organising Committee (LOC) for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 has expressed its readiness to host Asia’s most prestigious women’s national team competition, which begins in ten days.

Praful Patel, President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), spoke about the tournament’s preparations leading up to the opening match day on January 20, 2022. “All facilities for the renowned AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022TM have been completed.

“Special attention has been paid to ensuring that the greatest female footballers in Asia have access to world-class infrastructure at all three venues, as well as at the training sites “Praful Patel added.

“The pitches at all venues have been significantly upgraded to support modern football. Other facilities including dressing rooms, media tribunes, broadcast compounds and hospitality areas have been refurbished. In Pune, new floodlights with LED panels have been installed. And now, we cannot wait for the teams to come to India and play their best game,” he further added.

Notably, the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 will be played in three stadiums at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai and the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune with all three venues and training facilities spruced up.

New training facilities have been built in Pune for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022, while the pitch at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex has been refurbished with new floodlights.

To accommodate the competition, two additional practise pitches have been built. Aside from that, the team locker rooms, hospitality spaces, and media tribune have all been improved. The floodlights of the D.Y. Patil Stadium, which will host the Final on February 6, have been renovated, and the pitch has been updated to suit international standards.

Meanwhile, the Navi Mumbai Sports Association (NMSA) Training Ground and the Yashwant Rao Chavan Ground in Navi Mumbai have both updated their team dressing rooms and added new and modern facilities.

In addition, two training grounds have been erected at the CIDCO Centre of Excellence in Navi Mumbai, bringing the total number of training pitches for the tournament to six.

The pitch, as well as the changing rooms, hospitality area, referee rooms, and media tribune, at the Mumbai Football Arena stadium, which will host six matches, has been upgraded, demonstrating the LOC’s commitment to providing teams with the best facilities.
