New Delhi, June 8: India has recorded 5,233 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, up 40.9 percent from yesterday. The overall caseload now stands at 4,31,90,282. Throughout the same time period, seven deaths were reported in the country, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,24,715.
The top five states with the most instances, according to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, are Maharashtra with 1,881 cases, Kerala with 1,494 cases, Delhi with 450 cases, and Karnataka with 348 cases, and Haryana with 227 cases. These five states account for 84.08 percent of all new cases, with Maharashtra alone accounting for 35.94 percent of all new cases.
In the previous 24 hours, 3,345 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,26,36,710 across the country. The recovery rate in India is now at 98.72 percent.
On Wednesday, there were 28,857 active cases. The number of active cases has climbed by 1,881 in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, India administered a total of 14,94,086 doses, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,94,43,26,416. In the previous 24 hours, a total of 3,13,361 samples were tested.
