India records 6,050 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours; Centre’s high-level meet today

New Delhi, April 7: India recorded 6.050 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, according to data from the health ministry. The number of coronavirus cases across the nation increased by 13% from yesterday.

India confirmed 14 more virus-related fatalities, according to statistics from the health ministry. The current death toll is 5,30,943. Data released by the government on Friday showed that 4,41,85,858 persons had been dismissed.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will preside over a high-level conference with states and UTs to discuss the Covid situation in light of the increase in cases.

“The Centre has regularly issued guidelines to the States and UTs on Covid-19. PM Modi has held a review with all states on this. Today, Health Minister Mandaviya will hold a review meeting with health ministers of states and UTs,” MoS Health Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.

According to the Health Ministry, 1,78,533 tests were performed in total the day before.

In the last 24 hours, 2,334 doses of vaccinations were given. Since the countrywide immunisation effort got off on January 16, 2021, a total of 2,20,66,20,700 vaccinations have been administered.

Kerala has recorded the most Covid instances, with 9,422 current cases. Delhi now has 2,060 active cases after adding 265 additional cases, while Maharashtra has recorded 3,987 active cases overall in the state.
