New Delhi, April 21: India has registererd over 2,000 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours for the second day in a row.
The country recorded 2,380 new cases and 1,231 recoveries on Thursday. There are now 13,433 active cases in India.
Earlier on Wednesday, 2,067 new cases were reported in 24 hours, a substantial increase from the 1,247 new infections reported the day before.
According to government data, the daily positivity rate was 0.53 percent on Thursday morning, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.43 percent. In the last 24 hours, about 4.5 lakh tests were conducted in India.
So far, 187.07 crore vaccination doses have been distributed across the country.
The Centre advised five states – Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Mizoram – to require Covid-19 proper behaviour in their states in a letter sent on Wednesday. The centre has encouraged these states to keep an eye on the infection’s progress and take the necessary procedures to effectively manage Covid-19.
Covid-19 instances are on the rise in the nation’s capital. On Wednesday, Delhi announced over 1,000 new coronavirus infections. The city had the most Covid-19 cases since February 10 with 1,009 new infections.
