New Delhi, Nov.8: The Union Health Ministry on Monday announced that India has registered 11,451 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, up 5.5 percent from yesterday. The total number of cases is now 3,43,66,987 according to the data released by the ministry.
Kerala (7,124 cases), Maharashtra (892), Tamil Nadu (850), West Bengal (723) and Andhra Pradesh (320) are the top five states with the most Covid-19 cases. The new instances are concentrated in these five states, accounting for 86.52 percent of all new cases. Kerala accounts for 62.21 percent of all new cases of Covid-19.
After 266 fatalities were reported in the country in the last 24 hours owing to Covid-19, the total death toll now stands at 4,61,057. Kerala had the most casualties (201), followed by Maharashtra with 16 daily deaths.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 13,204 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 3,37,63,104 across the country. The recovery rate in India is now at 98.24%.
The number of active cases in India has increased to 1,42,826. The number of active cases has decreased by 2,019 in the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, India has provided a total of 23,84,096 dosages, bringing the total to 1,08,47,23,042. In the last 24 hours, a total of 8,70,058 samples were examined.
