New Delhi, Nov.22: In the previous 24 hours, India has reported 8,488 new coronavirus cases, with 249 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, the country saw a total of 12,510 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall recovery rate to 98.31%, the highest since March 2020. The total number of recoveries is now 3,39,34,547.
The number of current COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1,18,443 (the lowest in 534 days), according to government data released today. Active cases account for 0.34 percent of all illnesses.
Over the course of 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 4271 cases.
According to data updated at 8 a.m., the death toll had risen to 4,65,911 with 249 new fatalities.
For the past 45 days, the daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000, and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for the past 148 days.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 63,25,24,259 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of November 21. On Saturday, 7,83,567 of these samples were examined.
Meanwhile, according to Johns Hopkins University, the global coronavirus caseload has surpassed 257.5 million, with over 5.15 million deaths and over 7.39 billion immunizations.
