New Delhi, April 23: India recorded over 10,000 COVID cases for the fifth day in a row, with 10,112 new infections in the previous 24 hours, according to the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.
The number of COVID cases showed a slight decrease nationwide in comparison to Saturday’s case tally.
On April 22, India reported 12,193; on April 21, 11,692; on April 20, 12,591; on April 18, 7,633; and on April 17, 9,111.
The number of active cases in the nation grew to 67,806 from 67,556 yesterday, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry went on to say that the current recovery rate is 98.66%.
According to the Ministry, 9,833 patients have recovered from the illness in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people who have been cured of the ailment to 4,42,92,854.
India has provided 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the statewide vaccination campaign (95.21 crore second doses and 22.87 crore precautionary doses), with 1,947 doses being given in the past 24 hours.
The health ministry reported that 1,43,899 tests were done in the past 24 hours.
