New Delhi, Nov.17: In the last 24 hours, India has registered 10,197 new COVID-19 cases, up 15% from the previous day’s total of 8,865 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in 287 days.
Across a single day, at least 12,134 people recovered from the sickness, while 301 people died in the country.
The daily positivity rate is 0.82 percent, down from 2% in the previous 44 days, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.96 percent, down from 2% in the previous 54 days.
The number of active coronavirus cases has dropped to 1,28,555, the lowest level in 527 days.
Of the 10,197 new cases, 12,134 recoveries & 301 deaths in last 24 hrs, Kerala reported 5516 cases, 6705 recoveries and 39 deaths.
Mizoram reported 459 new cases and 1 death. Active cases in the state stands at 5390.
For the past 40 days, the daily increase in new Covid-19 cases has been fewer than 20,000, and for the past 143 days, it has been less than 50,000. The active cases currently account for 0.37 percent of all infections, the lowest level since March 2020, according to the Health Ministry, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.28 percent, the greatest level since March 2020.
Even though the primary festive season has passed, there has been no hint of a significant increase in Covid-19 instances in recent years. The immunisation campaign has gained up steam across the country.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 62,70,16,336 samples have been tested up to November 16 for COVID-19. Of these 12,42,177 samples were tested on Tuesday.
