India reports 13,405 new Covid-19 cases, active caseload below 2 lakh

New Delhi, Feb 22:India registered 13,405 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s active caseload below 2 lakh, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data published on Tuesday.

The active cases currently account for 0.42 percent of all cases and currently stand at 1,81,075, according to data updated at 8 a.m. In just 24 hours, the active caseload was reduced by 21,056 cases, and daily infections have now remained below one lakh for 16 days.

The country’s death toll has climbed to 5,12,344 with 235 fresh fatalities. After 34,226 fresh recoveries were documented between Monday and Tuesday morning, the total number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,21,58,510. As a result, India’s recovery rate has increased to 98.38%.

Over 76.12 crore Covid-19 tests have been conducted in India thus far, with 10,84,247 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 1.24 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 1.98 percent.

Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 35.50 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s vaccination coverage has crossed 175.83 crore.
