New Delhi, July 14: India has reported a total of 20,138 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the overall number of coronavirus infections to 4,36,89,989 in last 24 hours. 38 more people died today, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5,25,557.
According to data from the Union Health Ministry, there are now 1,36,076 active cases.
According to the government, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.50%, while the active cases make up 0.30 percent of all infections.
In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase of 3,619 cases in the active COVID-19 caseload.
With 20,139 new infections, India’s daily Covid tally has surpassed 20,000 for the first time since February. With free doses starting on Friday, the government hopes to encourage patients to get a third dose or booster shots.
As part of its Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the government declared on Wednesday that vaccine booster shots would be provided free of charge to all adults at government-run facilities beginning on Friday for 75 days.
