New Delhi, July 21: India reported 21,566 new coronavirus infections in one day on Thursday, bringing the total to 43,825,185. With this, the number of active cases in the nation is currently getting close to 1.50 lakh. 1,48,881 cases are currently active, which represents 0.34 percent of all cases.
Data from the union health ministry show that India reported 45 cases of the virus-related death in the previous 24 hours, bringing the overall number of fatalities to 5,25,870. In the meantime, 18,294 people have recovered over the past 24 hours. The nation currently has a 98.46% recovery rate.
The weekly positivity rate is 4.51 percent, compared to the daily positivity rate of 4.25 percent.
The Covid-19 vaccination rate in India has surpassed the historic 200 crore level. 3.82 crore and 2.66 crore individuals in the 12–14 age range have received their first and second doses, respectively. The initial doses have been administered to more than 6.09 crore and the second doses to more than 5.03 crore people in the 15–18 age range. People over 60, healthcare professionals, and frontline employees have received over 4.68 crore precautionary doses, and people between the ages of 18 and 59 have received over 1.66 crore doses.
There have been 87.11 billion Covid tests run so far, with 5,07,360 tests run in the past 24 hours.
