New Delhi, Dec 1: India reported 8,954 new Covid-19 cases and 267 deaths in the past 24 hours, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
With this, the active caseload in the country stands at 99,023 which is less than one lakh after 547 days.
As many as 267 people lost their lives to the viral infection in the past 24 hours. More than 4.69 lakh people have succumbed to the virus so far as the death toll stands at 4,69,247.
10,207 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery tally in the country to 3,40,28,506. The recovery rate stands at 98.36%, which is highest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate is 0.81% and weekly positivity rate is 0.84%.
Meanwhile, 1,108,467 samples tested for the disease in the last 24 hours as the cumulative number of samples tested reached 642,412,315, informed the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).
Also, 80,98,716 vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours. With this, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 124.10 Cr (1,24,10,86,850) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
