New Delhi, June 17: India’s Covid tally increased on Friday with 12,847 cases reported in the previous 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The country had 12,213 infections as of Thursday.
Since Thursday, 14 deaths have been reported, bringing the total death toll to 524,817. According to data from the Ministry of Health, there are presently 63,063 active cases in the country, accounting for 0.13 percent of all cases.
Maharashtra remained the state with the most infections, with 4,255 on Thursday. Since February 12, this was the greatest single-day increase. Meanwhile, 1,323 illnesses were reported in Delhi.
There were 552 infections in Tamil Nadu. Kerala, like other states, is seeing a slow increase in Covid-19 cases, with 3,419 new infections reported on Thursday. On Thursday, the number of active Covid-19 infections in Chandigarh tricity surpassed 500 for the first time in 114 days, with 87 new infections.
According to data from the government, the country’s recovery rate was 98.64 percent. The death rate in this event was 1.21 percent.
According to the health ministry, India’s daily positivity rate was 2.47 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 2.41 percent. The total number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has now reached 4,26,82,697. Meanwhile, 195.84 doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far, as per the ministry.
