New Delhi, June 19: The Indian Air Force announced the details of the Agnipath recruitment system on Sunday, announcing that the process will begin on June 24 — despite continuous protests against the programme, which will enrol young people into the military for a four-year period. Agniveers would enjoy a 10% reservation in the defence ministry, while they will have the same quota in the CAPF and the Assam Rifles under the Union home ministry. The announcements were made in order to calm down the protesters.
Among the various variables included in the IAF document are eligibility, educational qualifications, medical requirements, assessment, leave, salary, and life insurance coverage.
“Agniveers will not have the right to be selected for further enrolment into the Armed Forces. Selection will be the exclusive jurisdiction of the government,” the document said.
