New Delhi, July 6: All 22 crew members of the stranded commercial ship MT Global King I were rescued by the Indian Coast Guard. ICG officials said that ALH Dhruv and ICG warships were sent from Porbandar to conduct the rescue operations 93 nautical miles out to sea.

The rescued crew consists of 20 Indians, 1 Pakistani, and 1 Sri Lankan, according to ICG officials. The ICG warships and helicopters are transporting the saved people to Porbandar port.
A rescue operation was launched in the Arabian Sea near Porbandar coast in Gujarat after a distress alert was received from MT Global King due to uncontrolled flooding onboard.
The ship, which is carrying 6000T of bitumen and has 22 crew members on board, is reportedly 93 NM west of Porbandar and travelling from Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates, to Karwar, India.
