Ranchi, May 30: the Indian railways have released a total of 3,612 vacancies for the apprentice posts. Posts with vacancies include fitter, welder, carpenter, and diesel mechanic among a total of 17 posts. The interested candidates may apply for the posts till June 27 by visiting the website www.rr-wr.com.
As per sources, the selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the 10th marks directly without any examination.
Notably, there are 941 posts for fitters, 387 posts for welders, 221 for carpenters, 213 posts for painters, 209 posts for diesel mechanics, 15 posts for the mechanic of motor vehicle, 639 posts for electricians, 112 posts for electronic mechanics, 14 posts for wireman, 147 posts for mechanic (refrigerator-AC), 186 posts for pipefitter, 126 for plumber, 88 for draftsman (civil), 252 posts for pasa, eight posts for stenographer, 26 posts for machinist and 37 posts for turner.
Under the minimum essential qualification, candidates must have passed class 10th or 12th examination with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Candidates should have also passed an ITI course in relevant trade from a recognized institute. The minimum age required to apply is 15 years and the upper age limit is 24 years. The basis for calculation of age has been kept as May 1, 2022.
Meanwhile, a relaxation of three years for OBC category candidates and five years for SC and ST category candidates have been given in the upper age limit in the reserved category. The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation and ITI courses.
Candidates may visit the official website of Railway https://www.rrc-wr.com. The candidates may look for the Apprentice Registration link on the homepage and fill out the form, age proof and upload a photograph. They should then submit it and download the application form.
