Mumbai, April 4: Ricky Kej, an Indian composer, earned his second Grammy at the 64th Grammy Awards, which were held at the MGM Grand Marquee Ballroom in Las Vegas. Ricky Kej greeted the audience with a Namaste as he accepted the trophy with rock great Stewart Copeland. He and Steward Copeland, won the Best New Age Album for Divine Tides. He also uploaded a post on social media.
“So grateful to have won the Grammy Award for our album Divine Tides. Absolutely love this living-legend standing next to me – Stewart Copeland. Love all of you too! This is my 2nd Grammy Award and Stewart’s 6th,” he wrote.
Ricky Kej, who has won over 100 prizes in over 20 countries, won his first Grammy Award in 2015 for his album Winds of Samsara. He has been recognised by the United Nations as a Global Humanitarian Artist and is a committed environmentalist.
Stewart Copeland is the drummer and founder of The Police, a British rock band. Meanwhile, the music label Lahari Music released Divine Tides, which includes nine tracks and eight music videos shot in locations all over the world, from the Indian Himalayas to the Spanish woodlands. Meanwhile, AR Rahman also attended the Grammy Awards.
