There was a temporary suspension of internet services of all types and all service providers in the district since February 15 in the wake of the communal fracas at Panki ahead of the Maha Shivratri.
The suspension of internet services in the district most adversely affected LPG cylinder distribution and petrol pump owners.
The agency owner of the HP gas agency dealer Daltonganj, A K Pandey said the suspension of internet services affected the sale of the LPG cylinders. He said bookings for the consumers were badly derailed by this suspension.
Students preparing for various examinations used to travel to the adjoining districts of Latehar and Garhwa to have net availability in these four days.
A petrol pump owner located in the Panki area said our fuel consignment and consumption both dropped drastically first for the suspension of internet services and second for the promulgation of the prohibitory order under section 144 at Panki.
Notably, a dispute between two communities in Panki of the district on Wednesday morning followed by stone-pelting between the two sides has resulted in Section 144 being imposed in the area to control the situation.
