New Delhi, March 11: David Warner, the opener for the Delhi Capitals, has decided to sit out a few IPL games this season. Warner is currently in Pakistan for the test match.
Warner has opted to attend the state burial of his childhood idol Shane Warne on March 30th in Melbourne. Warner has stated that he will return home following the third Test in Lahore. The third test will end on March 25th. Warner stated that he grew up idolising Warne and that he will attend his idol’s farewell tour.
“I will be there, 100 percent for the funeral. As a kid, I had his poster up on the wall. I wanted to be like Shane. It’s definitely going to be extremely emotional for everyone. There will be lots of people paying their respects,” he said.
The 15th season of IPL is going to start from 26 March. At the same time, Delhi Capitals will play its first match in IPL 2022 against Mumbai Indians on March 27. Delhi had bought David Warner for Rs 6.25 crore in the mega auction.
