Mumbai, May 8: One of Delhi Capitals’ (DC) net bowlers tested positive on early hours of Sunday, ahead of their crucial match against CSK.
According to reports, DC has opted to segregate the player and another bowler who shared his room with him.
According to IPL regulation, the Delhi Capitals will have to go through another round of testing, and all members will be segregated in their rooms until then. The Delhi Capitals will play Chennai Super Kings at DY Patil Stadium this evening in a league match. Delhi is in fifth place in the IPL points table, having won five games and lost five.
Ricky Ponting’s family member had previously tested positive, thus the coach chose to skip a few games.
DC foreign players Tim Seifert and Mitchell Marsh, as well as four members of their support staff, tested positive last month.
Because DC is the only team that has seen Covid 19 cases in their camp, the timetable and location have been changed.
The match between the Delhi Capitals and the Punjab Kings was shifted from Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday.
This was done to prevent the virus from spreading further due to an undiscovered case on a long-distance bus ride in a contained environment.
