Mumbai, April 13: Since the start of the IPL 2022, the Delhi Capitals have had injury difficulties in their team. Initially, South African pacer Anrich Nortje was ruled out, and now Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is still recovering from an injury sustained on the Pakistan tour.
During the IPL 2022 mega auction, the DC paid Rs 6.5 crore for Mitchell Marsh. During his team’s T20 World Cup 2021 final victory, the Australian was named Player of the Match. DC was supposed to replace him, but they decided to integrate him into their squad so that he could complete his recovery in India.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting, DC’s head coach, had previously mentioned the game against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 10 as a possible return date for Marsh, but he didn’t appear in that now. Now, their problems have been exacerbated by the news that Marsh is still recovering from his injury and will miss the next three to four games.
Notably, the Delhi Capitals are currently placed sixth in the league table having won two of their four matches.
