Deoghar, Oct.30: The Income Tax department has carried out raids at various locations in Deoghar and Godda on Monday.
According to sources, the IT teams from Patna and Dhanbad have raided different locations of real estate developers and persons engaged in land dealing linked to liquor baron Jogendra Tiwari, who is undergoing interrogation by the ED in the liquor scam.
The IT teams knocked on the doors of the alleged tax evaders around 7 a.m. and carried out raids the whole day at 18 locations in Deoghar and six in Godda.
Ex-Mayor Rajnarayan Khawade, his associate Uma Shankar Singh, Brajesh Ray, a native of Nokhile under Jasidih police station, a close associate of liquor kingpin Jogendra Tiwari, real estate developers Sanjay Malaviye and Chandan Srivastav, JMM senior leader Nand Kishor Das, Mahesh Mishra, Sanjaya Nand Jha, Kolkata-based CA Makhan Lal Satnali Wala, Godda-based contactor Mukesh Bajaj, and Binod Verma. The raids continued till late evening.
