The ADJ-I who is also in charge of the Special POCSO Court slapped the convict with a penalty of Rs 5,000 failing to which he will have to serve additional three months imprisonment.

In the case, there were in all eight prosecution witnesses.

Banra had raped the mentally retired by luring her into his house located in the neighbourhood of the victim’s house in Jadugora. The victim’s younger sister had watched Banra taking the victim into his house and could know about the heinous act.

The younger sister had later informed her parents about all this, leading the anxious family members to intimate the village head for justice. The village head had convened a Panchayati on the matter, but when it could not be resolved there, the parents lodged an FIR against Banra with the Jadugora thana.
