Ranchi, June 13: The wife and father of former rural development department chief engineer Virendra Ram today filed an anticipatory bail petition before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court.
They took the step after Ram’s wife Raj Kumari devi and father Genda Ram, experienced sword of Damocles hanging over their head after the arrest of Ram in a money laundering case. On February 22, the ED had arrested Ram and his relative Alok Ranjan in this case.
A day before this, on February 21, the ED had raided Ram’s 24 locations and recovered documents related to investment of crores in many cities of the country including jewelry worth about one and a half crores.
