Jamshedpur, July 11: Hours after police received a complaint of a 12-year-old boy’s missing report on Tuesday, the minor’s body was found floating at the Baroda Ghat in the Kharkai river along the Bagbera thana area in the afternoon.

The body was identified as that of Vikash Kumar Yadav, a resident of Bagbera.

Vikash who was a student of class IV in a local school had gone missing after he had come out of his home along with three of his friends on Monday afternoon.

As the boy did not return home despite an inordinate delay yesterday, his parents had searched for him everywhere throughout the night and had finally turned up in the Bagbera thana to lodge a missing report this morning.

After the boy’s body was sighted at the Baroda Ghat, the police recovered it and got it identified by informing the victim’s parents.

The police sent the body to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.

A police official said they are trying to find out the circumstances under which the boy died.
