Jamshedpur, March 16: The body of a 20-year-old youth, who had left his house at Bhatia Bustee in Kadma on Wednesday evening was found on Thursday morning near P&M Mall in Bistupur.
As there was no mark of external injury except on the face, the police are not immediately able to conclude whether it is a case of road mishap or murder. The body of youth, Raj Nayak, was found lying in the middle of Outer Circle Road close to the mall with the deceased’s Maruti Dzire parked along the road about 25 metres away from the spot.
The car was found locked and the wallet as well as the cellphone of the deceased were lying inside the four-wheeler.
DSP (Composite Control Room) Animesh Gupta said that a patrolling party found the body around 1 am today. The police took it to the MGM medical college hospital where the doctor on emergency duty declared it as dead.
“After the body was identified by means of the cellphone, we reached out to the deceased family members at Kadma. It was learned from the bereaved family that Roshan had been to Christle Bar in Sakchi having come out of his home, informing his parents that he will be back by 8.00 pm,” said Gupta while talking to lagatar24.com.
The DSP said they got CCTV footage of the bar where Roshan was found boozing alone and he was fully drunk when he stepped out of the bar.
He pointed out that the cause of Roshan’s death could be known only after the autopsy report is made available. But Roshan’s father Birendra Nath Verma claimed his son had been at the Christle Bar along with some of his friends.
“Late in the evening I had tried to contact my son but one of his friends, Lala had received the call instead of my son. I am sure some of Roshan’s friends were behind his murder, ” said Verma while talking to the media.
He said Lala who had received the call must have committed the murder. The police have shifted the body to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.
