Jamshedpur, June 29: Mystery shrouds the death of a 32-year-old man whose body was found lying dead at his rented house in Satbohni locality under Adityapur thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Deepak Chaudhury was married but was staying alone as his wife had gone to her parents’ place in Bihar.
According to neighbours, Deepak would work at a factory in Adityapur industrial area and would get up early in the morning every day.
“But as the young man did not open the door since morning, some of the neighbours went over to the house and out of curiosity peeped into the room where Deepak would stay. Shockingly, the young man was found motionless on the floor. He was also bare body,” said the neighbour requesting anonymity.
The neighbour said soon after the Adityapur police was informed about the incident, leading a police party to reach there in the afternoon and recovered the body for a postmortem.
The body bore no mark of any grievous injury as such, but there were marks of scratches in hands and other parts of it.
OC, Adityapur thana, Rajan Kumar pointed out nothing conclusively said about the reason behind the man’s death.
“During inspection of the room we found a switch-board blackened in smoke. Maybe be the death was due to electrocution. Murder angle also cannot be ruled out. We have, therefore, sent the body to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem,” said Kumar.
The OC said the cause of death can be known only after getting the autopsy report.
Some people who are immediate neighbours revealed that Deepak would consume liquor after returning home from the duty every evening, but they had never seen him quarreling with anyone.
Significantly, residents in the densely-populated Satbohni locality are frightened as a spate of murder was witnessed during the recent period.
