Jamshedpur: Association of British Scholars organises webinar, quiz on ‘Jharkhand Clean Air’

Jamshedpur, Feb 9: Association of British Scholars (ABS) in association with SwitchON Foundation organized a webinar and quiz today on the topic ‘Air Pollution: Causes, Effects and Control.’

The webinar aimed at raising awareness among school children of Jamshedpur about how and why air pollution is a health emergency.

The session had a mini quiz section where the future environmental enthusiasts showed what they learned from the webinar and their overwhelming responses gave hope that the future is in the right hands.

The managing director of SwitchON Foundation, Vinay Jaju’s thoughts on the matter was, “Children are the main inspiration for the advocation of environmental degradation and climate change. I am very happy to have organized this event and am further inspired to see them taking an active interest in combating air pollution.”

Ashu Tiwary, general secretary, Association of British Scholars Jamshedpur chapter said that there is an urgent need for all stakeholders to create awareness about the need to adopt environmentally friendly measures in our day-to-day living.

“I am happy that institution heads have encouraged the participation of their school students. The response was indeed heartening, “she said.

The winners bagged awards from Kalam Labs.

Earlier vice- president ABS (Jsr chapter), Shantanu Chakraborty welcomed the audience while  Priti Sinha, principal, Gulmohar High School proposed the vote of thanks.

  • Ayush Kumar- Rajendra Vidyalaya
  • Aditya Kumar Singh -Srikrishna Public School
  • Shakti Dev-Srikrishna Public School
  • Archit Dey -Rajendra Vidyalaya
  • Aaheli Das- J H Tarapore School

 

The participating schools were – Motilal Nehru Public school, Sri Krishna Public School, Sacred Heart Convent School, Little Flower School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Loyola School, D. B. M. S -Kadma, Vig English school, Valley View School, Hill top school and Kerala Public School.
