Jamshedpur, May 25: A delegation of BJP’s East Singhbhum district unit has demanded district administration to take steps for identifying Bangladeshi infiltrators and necessary action against them so that the region may get rid of thousands of illegal people.

Led by Advocate Devendra Singh, the saffron party delegates have in a petition addressed to East Singhbhum DC, urged to check any suspected Bangladeshi credential by inquiring into the burial records of the suspect’s father or forefather only and not just seeing Voter ID card or Aadhaar Card.

As the DC Vijaya Jadhav was not present in the office, the delegates met ADC, J Tigga and handed him the petition.

Later on, talking to the media the BJP leader Devendra Singh said that he stressed the need of eliminating the Bangladeshi infiltrators’ problem which has already assumed a menacing proportion in the steel city and beyond.

“We also talked about the way as to how to detect Bangladeshi infiltrators as they are carrying fake voter’s cards, Aadhaar cards and even Ration cards with them to dodge the police. We urged the ADC to get to the suspected Bangladeshi by carrying out an enquiry in the Kabristaan where they might have buried their forefathers, stressing that only the burial records can establish the true identity of a suspect. The ADC appreciated our idea and promised to put the matter at the appropriate level for the necessary initiative, ” said Singh.

The saffron leader said Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators have settled in and around the steel city in large numbers over the past two decades. Such infiltrators not only indulge themselves in criminal and anti-national activities but also tend to change the demography of the region by marrying docile tribal girls and tribal women while working as masons in building construction works.

“All the Bangladeshi infiltrators claim to be residents of Murshidabad district of Bengal as if there is a factory to produce masons, ” the advocate pointed out sarcastically.

Singh when queried, observed that burial records are such documents which cannot be tampered with as each Kabristaan management committee keep them religiously.

The BJP leader pointed out that they have sent a copy of the petition to the Union Home Ministry also for the latter’s perusal as the issue of Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators has become a national menace.
