“Abhay Singh’s arrest was made on the basis of revelations made by several members of the Shastrinagar-based Hanuman temple. From the statements made by the temple committee members it has been prima facie establishes that he had allegedly a role behind instigating the flair-up at Shastrinagar in Kadma last evening,” said Vijay Shankar while talking to lagatar24.com.

The City SP informed that about 60 persons have been arrested in connection with the communal clash so far and the effort for identifying more miscreants indulged in the violence is on.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Dr Dinesanand Goswami came to the Bistupur thana and met the arrested party leader Abhay Singh there.

“I want the police must arrest those indulged in the Shastrinagar communal violence, but no innocent person should be taken into custody,” said Goswami.

He stated that a high-level fact-finding team consisting of JB Tubid and Lakhman Prasad Singh has been set up so as to confirm whether Abhay Singh had instigated the communal tension at Shastrinagar.

Goswami informed that he would soon meet the deputy commissioner, Vijaya Jadhev and the senior SP, Prabhat Kumar with a request for the unconditional release of Abhay Singh.
