Jamshedpur, Jan 23: The 43rd edition of the Maxi Fair organised by the Marketing Association of XLRI saw unparalleled turnout in competitions of Miss and Mrs Jamshedpur, Jamshedpur’s favourite family and the likes.
Notably, the much sought-after two-day fair concluded last night.
Throughout the day on Sunday, the fairgrounds thronged with excited participants, cheerful students and families who saw Maxi Fair as a lively and entertaining breather.
The highlight of the show was however, the electrifying performance of Shahid Mallya, the Bollywood singer who has a line of popular songs in his name.
This year was the 43rd edition of the Maxi Fair, an event whose seeds were laid in 1979. Born to pursue marketing with an academic purpose, Maxi Fair has earned a name for itself. This year, MAXI received research problems from leading market players from the FMCG and Manufacturing sector.
Like every year, Maxi Fair was held in XLRI’s football ground. For the entertainment of children, not only will the fair have fun rides, games, etc. but also have lots of competitions.
There were competitions like Art Attack, Fancy dress, and Dance mania for kids, and Miss & Mrs Jamshedpur, Jamshedpur’s Favorite family, and Masterchef for the adults, so that you can win exciting gifts. There were also a variety of shops and food stalls so that you can buy your Lucknowi Jootis as well as eat your favourite chaat.
The first event that kicked off the fair was Dance Mania, a kids’ group dance competition which saw vibrant participation across ages.
Brilliant moves were showcased and the judges acknowledged the talent of the participants.
Another major attraction that garnered attention was the beauty pageant titled Miss Jamshedpur.
Several young girls exhibited their singing and dancing moves before enthralling the audience in their ethnic and western garb in the fashion show.
MasterChef too was a huge success with some relishing, brilliant recipes that had the audience yearning for a taste. The day had several other attractions of varied stalls, a well-stocked and diversified food court catering to all varieties of taste buds, and a gaming arena for laser tag, paintball and many others.
The show’s stellar performance however was that of Mallya who performed and set an electric atmosphere.
With several popular numbers, he had the crowd dancing and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
An official at Maxi Fair said, “This year’s fair was the biggest ever. We hope to carry forward our legacy of intensive research through disguised methods”.
