Jamshedpur, Sept 23: A 30-year-old doctor of MGM Medical College and Hospital Amit Kumar Singh tried to commit suicide by shooting himself at his residence on Thursday morning
A resident of S-Type in Adityapur he was rushed to the MGM Medical College and Hospital where his condition was stated to be serious.
Singh who is also associated with Jugsalai-based Rajasthan Seva Sadan sustained bullet injuries below his right ear.
Police initiated a probe into the incident.
According to police, the doctor used a licenced pistol of his brother to shoot himself.
Hearing the gunshots neighbours and his family members rushed to his room to find him in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.
According to family sources, Amit was about to get married in November, and that recently his ring ceremony was solemnised.
Adityapur police are probing into the case.
