Jamshedpur, Jan 7: The first day of the Championship Dog Show being organised by the Jamshedpur Kennel Club at the Loyola School ground on Friday evening saw dogs participating in an obedience trial. The event was inaugurated by T V Narendran, CEO and managing director of Tata Steel, who was the chief guest in the presence of Ruchi Narendran, president of Jamshedpur Kennel Club.
Moreover, There was an agility show conducted by Tata Steel and Tata motors to kick off the event. Day 1 of the dog show involved Obedience Trial. Over 80 dogs from across the country participated in the event.
Obedience trial examines the obedience of dogs through various drills and is done through various categories ranging from C1 to C7. ( C stands for Obedience Class) C6 is one of the toughest categories. A total of 22 dogs participated in this category.
Notably, this year’s event has received around 430 entries, the highest so far. Participation this year is also the maximum in the eastern region. The organisers informed that two new events have been added for the first time, the Beagle Speciality Show and the Labrador Retriever Specialty Show.
The Beagle Specialty Show will witness 57 participants while the Labrador Retriever show will have 54 participants.
