Jamshedpur, March 17: Former Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC) president Gurmukh Singh Mujhe was arrested from Mercy Hospital in Baridih where he was undergoing treatment by giving a fake identity.
Mukhe who had a dubious background was wanted in connection with a rape case, registered with the Kadma police station in November. The former CGPC president had allegedly raped the woman at gun point at her house in Kadma. The rape was committed in front of the victim’s children. The incident took place when the victim’s husband was away from the country.
The victim had while lodging the FIR also produced a video-clipping of the heinous crime, leading the police to register a case against the culprit. Ever since the accused was absconding.
Kadma thana OC Ashok Kumar Ram confirmed the arrest of Mukhe.
“The rape accused Gurmukh Singh Mukhe was undergoing treatment at a Baridih-based hospital after having changed his name. He has been arrested,” said Ram while talking to lagatar24.com.
