Jamshedpur, Nov 16: Gulmohur High School in Jamshedpur is all set to organise a Career Expo in association with Tata Education Excellence Programme (TEEP) and Tata Steel Foundation on Nov 18 and 19 on their primary school premises in Telco.
The vision of this event is to provide opportunities and possibilities to all the students of classes X to XII in the city. The two-day career expo is to make students realize the multitude of career options available to them today. Chanakya Chaudhary vice president, corporate services, Tata Steel will be the chief guest of the programme while Ravindra Kulkarni, head – Jamshedpur Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle (TMCV) will be the guest of honour. Principal of Gulmohur High School Preeti Sinha shared the insights of the programme at a press meet on Wednesday.
The career expo is expected to witness more than 4500 students, 350 teachers and principals of various schools of Jamshedpur along with various dignitaries from the corporate world- Tata Steel and Tata Motors. Over 25 leading universities from across the country will be presenting new-age career options like- artificial intelligence, forensics, and liberal arts among others and motivate students towards fulfilling careers of which they have very little awareness at the moment.
“This is for all those who would want to explore their future. More than 4500 students have already registered through their schools and will be a part of the fair. This is the first of its kind arrangement where students will be offered several careers to choose from,” said the principal of Gulmohur High School, Preeti Sinha.
Highlights of the opening ceremony will include an engrossing panel discussion on “Futuristic Career Opportunities” where panellists will include acclaimed academic professionals from reputed universities in the country.
This two-day non-profit event hopes to reach its intent of guiding students towards a million career opportunities that await them.
