Jamshedpur, Aug 1: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) special officer Krishna Kumar was replaced by Sanjay Kumar on Monday.

What was significant in the transfer phenomenon was that the designated special officer rushed to take charge of his new responsibility within hours of the transfer notification.

The transfer notification was issued sometime around 10 am from the Urban Development department in Ranchi and the new special officer made his presence by 4.15 pm.

After coming to know that Sanjay Kumar was rushing to the steel city, the current special officer Krishna Kumar was apparently in an awkward situation as he was to remove his personal articles from his office table and cupboards, giving hectic time to his subordinates.

“It is a good thing for me that I did not have to wait for handing over my charge to my successor. Now I will feel free to join my new responsibility as deputy director in the state Urban Development department in the capital.

While talking to lagatar24.com about his stint in the JNAC since September 2018, Krishna Kumar said he is satisfied with his service given to the civic body.

“I had a pet project relating to setting up a lab for checking air pollution in the city. Had it been done during my tenure, it would have been a memorable thing for me,” said Krishna Kumar.

With huge cash flow from state and central government for various public welfare projects in the city are majorly managed by Tata Steel, the post of special officer in JNAC is getting increasingly plumpy. The thriving real estate business in the city has made it (the post of special officer) all the more attractive.

The handing over and taking over the charge between the two Kumars was performed at about 5 pm.

The new special officer, Sanjay Kumar said he was earlier posted as an executive officer in Ramgarh.

“I will put my soul and heart for the new responsibility that I have been entrusted upon, ” said the new incumbent Sanjay Kumar, but he declined to reply as to when did he get the notification for his Jamshedpur posting.
