Kowali thana OC, Ranjit Oraon who had reached the spot immediately rescued the victims and rushed them to MGM medical college hospital. The doctors on emergency duty declared Ravi Gope as brought dead.
It may be mentioned here that an adequate number of speed-breakers used to exist on the Hata-Haldipokhar road earlier, but during road-widening work done in the recent past, those speed-breakers were made non-existent, giving rise to the mishaps.
